The Resilient Responder is a training and consulting company created by a first responder to address the needs of the first responder community, from the responders to their significant others and their children. Building strength through education and resilience training is all that we do. We approach resiliency from our motto: Prepare, Survive, Thrive. Programing is developed and delivered in a way that first responders will hear and embrace. Classes and services are listed below.
- Introduction to Mental Health- Mental health has been stigmatized and ignored for decades with sometimes disastrous results. The Resilient Responder breaks down those barriers and normalizes mental health using imagery and humor to open the conversation regarding mental health.
- Personal Journey Testimony- The Resilient Responder was founded by a first responder, and not by accident. The story details his journey through the world of fire and EMS, the pitfalls and mistakes along the way, the consequences of decisions both good and bad and how to better navigate a career as a first responder.
- Resiliency Training- Resiliency is broken down into eight core areas of our lives. Exploring each of those areas allows responders to identify areas of strength and areas that could be improved upon. Resiliency does not mean we will not get knocked down; it means we will have the strength to get back up.
- Peer Support Training- The Resilient Responder offers its own peer support training developed to encourage building strength and support within each department. Peer teams provide a valuable resource for members 24/7.
- CISM/CISD- Traumatic events cannot be avoided as a first responder. Data shows that properly utilized CISM/CISD reduces long term effects of exposure to traumatic events.
- Onboarding and Offboarding New Hires and Retirees-
- Spouse/Significant Other/Family Education- The job of a first responder is like no other. The stresses and impact of our jobs cannot always be left at work. Education for family members is an essential component of having both a successful career and happy family.
